Infant Massage

I. Love. Infant. Massage.

Seriously, as a manual therapist this is one of my favorite ways to encourage bonding with newborns. Touch is our first language and it is incredibly powerful. Infant massage includes treatment of the abdominal sphincters. This works wonders on little newborn guts. It doesn't take long to perform, is super easy to learn and very effective.

Benefits of utilizing this technique include soothing your baby and reducing crying, aiding digestion and helping to relieve colic, gas, and constipation, increasing daily weight gain, enhancing your baby's adjustment to nighttime sleep and helping them to sleep more deeply, decreasing anxiety, relieving nasal congestion and teething discomfort, helping to develop good muscle tone and coordination, enhancing body awareness, boosting the immune system, improving skin texture, helping calm and relax your baby's autonomic nervous system, and increasing the bond between you and your baby.

I highly encourage you to look into the benefits for you and your newborn!
