Returning to Sex Postpartum: Cleared doesn't always mean ready

🆘 POSTPARTUM PENETRATION 🆘 The only thing scarier than the first postpartum poop...Am I right, mamas?

Okay, but real talk. Being medically cleared does not always mean you are ready to return to s*x 🙀

We all have different comfort levels, different birth experiences and different healing timelines 🕗

Plus, the fear-tension-pain cycle is real, y’all 🔄 Which is why setting boundaries when returning to s*x is so important.

My biggest tip? ⭐️ Take penetration off the pedestal ⭐️ At least initially...

This allows you to enjoy being intimate without the fear of penetration weighing on you 🙌🏻

Instead, start with self-exploration

and external stimulation only. Remind those tissues of what pleasure feels like 😍

And, when you feel ready, here are a few tips to relax your pelvic floor in order to decrease the likelihood of pain👇🏼

✅ Practice pelvic floor relaxation exercises prior to sex

✅ Make foreplay your best friend

✅ Perform deep belly breathing prior to and during insertion

✅ Use lube!

✅ Try positions where you can control the depth, speed and angle of penetration

If you find yourself experiencing pain, dryness, decreased sensation or inability to climax, click the link in my bio to make an appointment ⬆️

Because you deserve to have pleasurable s*x and allllll of the orgasms. Okay? Okay ❤️

P.S. - Did you know that I also offer virtual wellness sessions for my non-local mamas?
