POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICES
The first forty days after childbirth is a period of time unlike any other. Though brief, it is a time of amazing intensity and massive adjustment.

WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?
A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. The postpartum doula offers many services to her clients, but her main goals are to help “mother the mother” and nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a newborn. Research shows that moms, dads, and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.
POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICES INCLUDE:
Meal Preparation - Warm, easy to digest, nutrient dense meals and snacks that are supportive to postpartum healing and lactation
Traditional Healing Modalities - Herbal sitz bath preparation, homeopathy and nourishing abdominal massage
Emotional Support - Birth story listening, reassurance and tending to the postpartum psyche
Environmental Support - General tidying, laundry and dishes so that mom can rest
Breastfeeding + Latch Support
* Services are booked by the hour, with a 3-hour minimum *

"As Americans, we are under the impression that new moms are 'Superwoman' and can return to life as it was before baby. We must remember to celebrate this new mother and emulate the other cultures that honor new mothers by caring for them, supporting them, and placing value on the magnificent transformation she is going through. This is the greatest gift we can give to new mothers and newborns."
