Pushing Hack
Updated: Mar 28
When it comes to pushing, our bodies weren’t designed to push for a long time. So, if you aren’t feeling pushy, if the fetal ejection reflex hasn’t kicked in, or if you’ve been pushing for a long time without progress — just stop. Stop active pushing and rest on your side with your knees closed and pant through your next 3 contractions. Most birthing people don’t even know that this is an option. Well, it is and sometimes it’s a necessity. You are allowed to take a break. You are allowed to give your baby the time that they need to rotate. You are allowed to let birth unfold in accordance with your physiology. And you are allowed to wait for an uncontrollable urge to push. Check out tomorrow’s post for more tips on opening up the pelvic outlet during pushing ❤️
